Re: Thai travelling to Thailand on UK passport

I'll make it four. My daughter, years ago entered without a passport at all and a friend's wife entered with an expired passport which she renewed before going back to the UK.

Re: What's Happened To The Water in Hua Hin?

Fortunately, with a 25,000 litre underwater tank,................... Yeah, those underwater tanks tend to stay full. :rasta: Not sure what you're getting at. A couple of years ago the water was off for several days. I hadn't noticed until the neighbours asked how I was managing. Checked the tank an...

Re: Direct from Grower leafy vegetables.

I've tried hydroponic grown vegetables and for me, apart from being expensive, much of the flavour is lost compared with conventionally grown produce. A good test is to try a tomato from each system. The tomato grown in soil is far more tasty then those grown in a hydroponics solution. Furthermore t...

Re: What's Happened To The Water in Hua Hin?

Fortunately, with a 25,000 litre underwater tank, I wouldn't notice a stoppage for several days. However, after reading the posts on here I checked this morning and the tank was full. I live in Hua Na.

Re: mobile/internet coverage Hua Hin

I think it came out of the government's Digital Strategy. I don't think it was a law but an encouragement for mobile companies to share masts. AIS and DTAC have since got into bed together (along with CAT I believe) to share masts. I guess other operators will follow suit as it's beneficial to the c...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

As usual it's another 'stab in the dark'. The only sensible statement in that report is: "Education is the missing key because we must create a culture of safety and awareness among youth" and it's not just theory and silly videos at the transport offices, but real training. A licence should only be...

Re: Driver’s licence health rules to become stricter

This is a knee jerk reaction to the accident in Pattaya this week where the driver was epileptic. But also later revealed that he was wasted on something else: http://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/crime-crime/2017/12/05/deadly-epileptic-driver-also-totally-high-police/ Exactly wha...

Re: Another alcohol clampdown

Maybe/maybe not, but does anybody really need a beer that much whilst visiting a National Park that they would risk a month in prison. One thing is sure, a beer won't be as readily available once imprisoned. I agree BB. But that still doesn't answer the question about National Parks where hotels an...

Re: Another alcohol clampdown

The department has told officials at national parks nationwide that they must strictly enforce the ban on alcohol, which includes both bringing alcoholic beverages into the parks and drinking alcohol in the parks themselves.

Re: Another alcohol clampdown

Koh Samet, Koh Phi Phi and lots of other tourist venues are National Parks. How's that going to work with the hotels and resorts, restaurants etc. Once again, a knee jerk reaction without sensible thought! It clearly states "prohibiting visitors from taking alcoholic drinks including beer and liquo...
