Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

As many know, the immigration in HH is a satellite of Singkhom immigration in Prachuab. It's already been said that 10+ years ago you had to make a trip there. Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

I always remember in the UK, the seatbelt alarm sounded based on a person in the seat. If I was to put the shopping on the front passenger seat, then I had to put the belt on to stop the annoying alarm!

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

Yeh, I've also been stopped several times over the years to check seatbelts. The one time I wasn't wearing one was near the railway station. I did argue the toss a little pointing out that whilst talking to me, many cars were driving by unchallenged who were not wearing belts. I said I'll pay when I...

yes and to stop at red lights and m/bike riders to wear a helmet--its not lack of rules that is the problem--its lack of ENFORCEMENT.

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

I agree with the seatbelt law forcing passengers both front and back to 'buckle up'. However, unlike the law in the UK, the onus is being put on the driver who would be penalised for a passenger not wearing a seat belt. This is deemed as a law 'for your safety'. So when will they take care of the 's...

But does it work? They don't have a very good record when it comes to software.

You're probably right. Translation was from my wife! Either way, it means pretty much the same.

Re: RE: Re: Road Closure Soi 88 Railway Crossing to Station

My wife says the sign says to wait (give way) and the longer phrase says that vehicles on the roundabout have priority. Just to correct that. Vehicles coming from the right have priority. Same, same but different! Right the first time - let vehicles on the roundabout go first. Both mean the same of...

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

As far as I know, this will be the first immigration building on government land. In the past it was like you say, facility given from developers/land owners/restaurants in return for 'favours'. This time there's nobody calling the shots and no lease to terminate. The guys at immigration believe the...

Can you not choose where your PO box is? A while back there was a sign in English on the white plywood in front of the upcomin...
