Re: Buffet breakfasts

Is this in reference to buffet breakfasts or brunch ? Their breakfast is iffy, but the lunch buffet is usually quite good for the price point, About 250 baht , so don't expect much. P When we stay there, never get the brekkie, unless 'free', as not a big brekkie eater. But always peek at the lunch ...

Re: Thailand Air Quality and Pollution Alerts

Drove down from Samut Songkhram yesterday, and through Phetchaburi & Hua Hin, you could barely see the hills in the distance off 4 & 37. If not knowing there, you might not of even notice their outline. Pretty sad state, and still don't understand why tourist come to TH in smog season, or at...

Re: Amazing Nature

Impressed myself by doing it myself!! Something you might want to try, before uploadng to YT, is edit vid speed, when having fast moving critters (wings mostly or jumping), is slow it down in editing software, to .5 or .25 normal speed. Surely iPhone has vid editing software. I do it quite often my...

Re: Burmese border market

... the only reason to go there is if you want furniture or orchids. Just came back from the market, and nothing new, except a couple more drink stands. Most shops full of wood furniture, not attended & no lights on, dark, and seem to be nothing but storage. Even though local for us, I can't se...

Re: Burmese border market

The Dan Singkhon market reopened yesterday (Nov. 25/23). Went out and had a look. I'd say it was running about 80% of what it was before it closed. I would assume it will get back to when it was 100% very soon. It was never really closed, just lack of customers, so many vendors stopped operating. H...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

A new question. Are BEV's more restricted concerning water depth on the roads than ICE's? That's a valid concern here. I would imagine with the electric motor it would be sensitive to splash, spray, snow much more than an ICE vehicle. As mentioned in that link, if it complies with the IP r...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

EV range claims made by manufacturers seem to be as reliable as their mpg claims for their ICEV’s. Pretty much all of the motoring press pour scorn on these figures. So MB have an EV that is supposed to give you 1k km at what price! Currently EV’s appear to be for the wealthy who have large enough ...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

I am interested in the topic. I just wish Governments around the world would leave their citizens to decide what sort of car suits their needs best. If they did, EVs would be gone. You mean the govts of elected official by the people, to carry out their wishes, for the people .... those govt's 8) S...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Forgot, the ZS EV is just a tad more, than the top end ICE version, unless you are dumb enough to want a sunroof in a tropical country  A few more bells & whistles, but I don't use the ones I have now, and same with the ICE version of the cars I've owned. They, options also seem to garnish...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Id like to reply but i just cant be bothered - you win!! Especially when I pass the petrol stations every day. EVs (BEVs) aren't for everyone. BUT, everyone should test drive, or better, lease one for a week, and judge for themselves. I was quite ignorant before I bought one, now, not so much. :che...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

I’m talking about comparing same type cars in price comparison - you said the EV’s are the same price as ICE cars, but near identical cars are not as I showed. You can argue the merits and de-merits as much as you want, as you and 2/cb usually do!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk But they are no...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Ok, but let’s compare apples with apples, not pears - I’m not knocking EV’s but in terms of outright purchase price, equivalent cars tend to be at least 20% more expensive as an EV compared to ICE. There may well be savings over time with reduced maintenance and running costs, I’m just trying to be...
