Rescued elephant being treated at conservation centre

It is not surprising that the weather forecasts are so wrong. It seems it is also difficult to tell the sex of elephants. .................................................................................................................... Re: B700m park to honour Thai kings in Hua Hin

As we approached, there were a few military police lined up. I turned in and put my window down expecting Mrs BB having to blag her way in. They all saluted (obviously knew who I was ), and I just drove in unhindered. But see, you are a VIP! I think the article is more about spending more money on ...

Re: Thailand floods of 2017

pump boats sml.jpg So how much water is being moved with these "boats"? Looking at the photo it does not seem to be doing a great deal? RAdm Watkit Yoksawat, deputy chief of Phra Chulachomklao Naval Dockyard, said each boat is capable of propelling 72 cubic metres of water per second as well as pum...

Re: Thailand floods of 2017

Hmm, Somchai and his former partner Einstein, are at it again! I would dearly like to know just how they have arrived at some of the claims being made with these "propeller-pump boats". It appears that along with the propeller, the boats now also have a "pump". What type of "pump" is not disclosed! ...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

I assume this was a mistake in the article and should be 60 cms not 60 mm which is hardly anything by Thai standards? They are quoting the same thing here: https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1344688/thousands-of-insurance-claims-for-vehicle-flood-damage?utm_source=bangkopost.com&utm_medium=ho...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Monsoon trough heads to city, PM orders alert https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/genera ... on-the-way It was never going to happen. I have no idea where these people get their forecasts from, but it appears that none of them can read a synoptic chart. Yes, there was a piddly little low pressure trou...

Re: Non immigrant O visa renewal

You need to do the renewal / extension before you go. It can be done up to 30 days before, or 45 days if you go to Hua Hin Immigration I believe. BUT, you need to have all the requirements in place when you go, they are posted on here in several places. Just done mine last week, took 20 minutes incl...
