lower parts are being warned to brace for torrential rain, strong winds and rough seas.
As I drove down Soi 94 this morning, I was mesmerised by the heavy sea I could see at the end of Soi 75.
It's those Polar Bears frolicking on the beach that concern me.

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

The girl behind the desk at the bank. And therein lies the problem. How many times have we seen people post on here that they have been refused trying to open a Bank Account. "No, must have work permit". "No, must have long stay Visa". "No, Farang cannot", and so on and on! And this "Government" is...

ATM only cards cannot be used as debit cards
Please read that which I posted. The Bangkok Bank card that I use is nearly as old as me, and it was simply activated to use as a debit card when I asked. Not sure about the KBank card, but I use it for both functions.

Re: Charging for plastic bags in Thailand?

The plastic shopping bags are a problem, no doubt. But an even bigger problem is all the other items that get stuffed into a plastic bag, or wrapped up in the crap. My biggest gripe is the overuse of shrink wrap. It is wrapped around just about everything edible! And then there is the ready to eat a...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

And that's what they said couldn't be done. Who said? The KBank card is a new 6 digit card, about 1 year old and came already activated. It was the first that I found out about it. I then took my old 4 digit card to Bangkok Bank and it took all of 3 minutes to activate it. Have used them both for p...

Nope, it's just for cash withdrawals.
Both Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank ATM cards can be used as debit cards, but they have to be activated by the Banks on request.

I'm sat here looking at a 6'6" doorway, and I'd estimate the ceiling is at least 3'6" above the door. It may even be 4' higher. It is probably 3 metres(9.84 ft), as strange as it may seem, metric is the standard here. :rasta: In the old money a standard door is: 6ft 8" x 2ft 8'', (68, 28) drummed i...

.............a visit to my wife's hometown in Khampeng Phet saw the construction of a driving center. This is interesting as they finally may be targeting the correct people - the ones who are just starting out. Are you sure it a private school? In Phrae province there is a big "test centre" that b...

Here is the company BB recommends as an alternative to Shrink Pictures: http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm It is not the resizer that is the problem. I have been using the following, and although it had a glitch a couple of weeks ago, it works good. Using Windows 10 including the latest u...

I've never know it not to work. Pete Shrink Pictures will NOT work for me and has not done so for a bout a year. I also have problems trying to upload ANY photo despite shrinking it. In fact I have had to ask you Pete to do it for me a couple of times. The last time I posted the resized photo just ...
