You're normally excellent with this stuff Nereus, but I'm afraid you got it wrong this time. I was the proverbial drowned rat to prove Ha,Ha, been expecting this! :D I did not predict that it would not rain! What I was agitated about was the dire warnings that the whole country was going to be unde...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

I am beginning to believe that these people post stuff like this just cover their ***ss. Then in the unlikely event that there is heavy rain / floods, they are covered! From the synoptic chart issued this morning the "storm" is just an area of low pressure(1002hPa at the centre) with maximum winds o...

Re: Which Pick-Up Truck?

And Thai law permits up to 5 to ride in the back. At least, that was the announcement from the ministry of silly ideas back in April. Was that before or after they banned ALL from riding in the back? They also have a seat belt law, so how is that applied? My ancient Land Rover is registered as 7 se...

Re: Which Pick-Up Truck?

Additionally, I'm allowed 5 people in the back, so I have a 10 seater vehicle. Great for taking the dogs to the beach. The last thing anybody would call me is fashionable I am a bit confused by this. How do you get 5 people in the "back"? I thought that you had a double, or dual cab, which has fron...

Re: British Community’s Annual Ploenchit Fair

It has never been the same since they stopped holding it in the grounds of the British Embassy, where the name comes from. A day out there would just about guarantee that you would run in to someone that you had not seen since the last one. :(

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

Solution?...no idea, except for the plastic industry to assure that these large bags are biodegradable, but I don't know how they could do it and still enable it to carry significant weight inside. Pete There is a current program on Australian cable TV called: "War On Waste". Some of the revelation...
