Paradise lost – Hua Hin peace shattered by “Party Houses” April 26, 2017 09:09 Residents in Hua Hin are facing shattered lives as “Party Houses” are springing up all over town. Re: Thai Navy to buy three Chinese submarines

Transparency is not a priority of the entities that are currently in charge in this country. Let's hope that if Beijing is ever unhappy with anything on a wider scale, then they don't just flip a switch at military HQ in China, and these subs sink. And before anyone gasps...the Thais don't have the...

Re: Hua Hin water supply disruptions?

The water is very bad these days. I decided to change the water in my jacuzzi yesterday. As you can see from the picture, the water was very dirty. Full of silt and clay. I have experienced this before but not as bad as this time. Luckily the filters work wonders in the jacuzzi and I have two sets....

Re: Hua Hin water supply disruptions?

Water off in Soi 94 area at the moment. A couple of days ago a neighbour and a team of workers told me the water would be off for a couple of days starting on Wednesday which never happened. I was told again last night by a Thai that it would be off for a couple of days and this morning my tank isn...

Re: (Last) order on the pavement: Thailand

what other country provides such opportunities for humor? it's like living in cartoonland. my next business will be designing a t-shirt that has a photo of an ATM on it, with the caption: Baby, I'm your ATM, to be worn when looking for a Thai girlfriend, wife or bargirl. You're too late! It's alrea...

Re: (Last) order on the pavement: Thailand

I doubt this latest 'crackdown' on street food vendors will have any impact at all, the street food vendors will just disappear for one day and come back the next day. :banghead: There must be literally hundreds of thousands of street food vendors in Thailand.

Re: (Last) order on the pavement: Thailand

" they impede pedestrians, make a mess and attract vermin." Like it or not, this part is true " Thais and tourists will no longer be able to eat cheap, delicious food at rickety tables ". And this is a bunch of overly dramatic horse pucky as you can find all of those dishes mentioned in the article...

Re: Postal Delivery in Hua Hin

I've had lots of problems with getting local bills delivered, however, I've always received international deliveries either by them tossing a small one through my gate onto the driveway , ringing the doorbell and giving it directly to me, or leaving a card in my mailbox so that I could pick ...

Re: Postal Delivery in Hua Hin

Honestly, I feel sorry for the Thai Postal workers that have to ride around on a little scooter all day and deliver mail. It must be a really difficult job being outside in the heat riding around on a little scooter and lugging all that mail around. Imagine if the USPS workers in the U.S. had to wor...

Re: Postal Delivery in Hua Hin

Been to the Post Office a few times to query non-delivery of mail. Went upstairs and found a large cardboard box lying on the floor full of mail for our development. TOT bills, Tru Vision etc plus lots of personal letters. Usual response - shrug of the shoulders.. Came home today and found lots of ...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

I am one of those in the 'other' camp. I like to walk around and interact with people. And shop. Except with my wife. That is on a totally different planet. While there is a trend towards online shopping here in Thailand, until more people get enough credit rating to actually qualify for a credit c...

Must be my "lucky" day. Lucky Curtain is just across the road from where we're staying. We're staying in the Mykonos Condo, and I just "walked" with google earth from the curtain place to the condo. Can't be more than a few hundred meters. :sun: :sun: :sun: Your posts reads and sounds like a thinly...
