Re: La Bua Resort

Dear all, I have a couple of friends who have purchased villas in the La Bua Resort. It now looks like the whole resort is falling apart. [Admin edit: Slander is a criminal offence in Thailand so we have removed the names and details from this post. Thank you for understanding.] Does anyone know wh...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Without question I'm biased! But not emotional enough to let unsubstantiated observations get in the way of good business decisions! JCP as a retailer has been holding on by finger nails for 20 years, stores that they are closing most likely average 30 years old, they are tired 3rd tier losers that...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

"US malls have really been hit hard because of the internet and the lack of customer service. People figure its better to interact with a faceless person than deal with an attitude face to face." RCer, not sure where you got your info about "US Malls have really been hit hard because of the interne...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

I don't mind the 'greeting at the door', in fact I quite like it. However, what I don't like is the constant badgering while you browse - these people are basically chasing me out of their shop. Then there's the desire to barter - I don't do barter. Of course, if they barter, they start at a stupid...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Thing to remember about the shops here vs the US. You are greeted when you walk in the door. US malls have really been hit hard because of the internet and the lack of customer service. People figure its better to interact with a faceless person than deal with an attitude face to face. Yes, greeted...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Good to see I am not alone in reacting to the China = cheap and nasty comment. Too many people conveniently forget where the iphone in their pocket came from and too many companies touting high price goods don't mention that they source most if not all of the product from China. For sure China does...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Yes, a lot does come from China, but isn't that the case the world over these days? To date, everything we've bought has been fit for purpose, and only one thing (a 15mtr retractable dog lead for over 30Kg dogs) has broken so far. Even that, was good value for money, gave great service, and I've si...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Being in Bang Saphan we have started using Lazada and have had good luck. Prices seem fine and they have items not available down here. Also have started using Passion Delivery for food. Have found their items to be excellent quality as well as fantastic customer service. I have never used Lazada, ...

Re: The Energy

I would be amazed if the 70% was anywhere near the truth. It's all smoke and mirrors as only property developers can do. I pass the development regularly and you see no significant traffic joining or leaving the place. As was pointed out already, it looks like a ghost town with only the tumbleweed ...

In such cases, I would only offer help if I'm asked for it. Otherwise, I'd 'keep my nose to myself'! :agree: I would have to. Some farangs here in Thailand view themselves as "Defenders of the Thai People" and they view other farangs especially white males as 'Big Angry Overpriviliged Perverts' tha...

Re: Power fluctuations - electric supply

I don't know the answer to your question but the first thing I would check is the size of the electric wiring to your air conditioner. My experience is that even professional aircon installers take shortcuts and try to either reuse or install wiring that is too small per the manufacturers minimum r...

Power fluctuations - electric supply

Does anyone else get fluctuations in their electrical power supply? Sometimes my air conditioner does a 'surging effect' during the day or evening but it doesn't do it all the time. I'm also wondering if the electrical power fluctuations could be what is causing my water pump to shut down sometimes,...

Re: Poop Lorries - where does it go?

We were pulled up on the side of a canal in a quiet soi in Petchburi for a lunch break couple years ago and I strolled over to watch a blue tanker with hose out down the embankment. The driver looked pretty uncomfortable with us around and said he was taking on water . But it was pretty obvious by ...
