Re: Good Dentist HH/Panburi Location

Bubba1, are you some kind of snob. You remind me of Hiso Thais who eat the the most expensive restaurants (not necessarily good) just because they can and they want people to see that they can afford it. Cost does not by any stretch of the imagination guarantee quality just because it's expensive. ...

Re: Good Dentist HH/Panburi Location

I'm not sure how we can be sure of safe practice in respect of unclean instruments. All decent surgeries will have sterilisation kit, but how do we know how well it is used? I've never heard of anybody becoming ill as a result of using a Hua Hin dentist. I think we'd all be interested in learning h...

Who asked for cheaper? Ever heard of quality? Or safe practices to not get Hepatitis C or HIV from unclean instruments?

Re: How to get from Don Muang Airport (DMK) to Hua Hin

Minivans usually have between 10 and 13 seats. Unless you're big like me, the can be comfortable enough, but they have very little option for luggage. Driving is notoriously white knuckle stuff. Another (better in my opinion) option would be a taxi to Vibhavadi, and the Sombat Tour VIP bus (very co...

Taxi is the only feasible option. Some will do it for 1500 baht

Re: Ear Wax Removal

Unfortunately many of the private hospitals in Thailand have become sloppy and thinking only of how they can invoice as much as possible. It is a shame if you ask me, but I guess a part of the problem is the insurance business. They are the ones driving the prices up. That's what hospitals do make ...

Re: Ear Wax Removal

Problem is most British can't stand the fact that one must pay for quality healthcare out of their own pocket so they go for the cheapest option. Throw in a weak £ and maybe it's time for them to go back to the NHS and some 'free' Doctor from Pakistan. Mate, we're talking about getting wax out of a...

Re: Ear Wax Removal

I learnt about 'top end' healthcare very early during my stay in Thailand. After many misdiagnosis and thousands of Pounds, I sorted the problem myself with a tube of inexpensive cream, which made the 'top end' doctor storm out of the consultation room in a rage. My wife was made very ill after bei...

Big Boy wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 5:40 pm No, but the clinic opposite Hua Hin Hospital is very nice, and you could have spent the change on a decent meal in a nice hotel if you want luxury.
I do respect the fact that everyone can't afford top end healthcare and has to resort to clinics. To each his own.

Really can't compare some clinic with Bangkok Hospital though can you?

Far end of Takiab

Thinking about moving to Takiab around where the baht buses start. Anyone lived in that area? Any pitfalls?

Re: Cider cans @supermarket

Tesco Market Village, Bluport supermarket and Villa were my sources three months ago. I think in the past Hua Hin Meat & Bacon had cider as well. Must admit though reading the first comment, not seen large bottles, only small ones. Yes only the small bottles of Strongbow made in Singapore are w...
