Yes I agree. At least it's better to have a lease agreement than have the property solely in partners name only. Your name will be on the chanote and your partner will find it next to impossible to sell the land etc.
Gives you a powerful bargaining chip if you do part ways with the love of your life.

Why not have your lawyer draw up a 30 year + lease agreement then have it certified and stamped at the Land Department.
