Re: Hua Hin water shortage
I'm not yet living in Thailand. Can someone explain to me the whole water tank thing? The rental villas I've looked at have water tanks. What is their purpose? How are they filled? How are they drained? Is the water stored inside these tanks suitable for drinking (not that I would), showering and w...

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand
Isn't making recycled plastic brooms just kicking the can down the road so to speak.
As they wear down they will be releasing just more micro plastic particles into the environment.

Re: Japan Airlines plane in flames on the runway at Tokyo's Haneda Airport
The clean up job is going to be a major nightmare considering the ferocity of the fire and the dispersion of all those exotic materials down the runway.
And hopefully the passengers all got away without inhaling any of it too.

You can count me in too.
BTW, I voluntarily contribute to support a free music station. The site was also near rock bottom some time ago and it's been brought back from the dead.

Re: Dragon Boat Racing, Khao Tao 2023
The PBS TV guys setting up at the lake told us that with the strong winds sweeping up the lake there yesterday swamping the boats was a possibility especially if side on to wave chop. Around at the entrance to the canal inlet near the temple was an absolute churning mess of wild white water.Let's ho...

Re: Covid Accessories - How Times Have Changed
Was listening to this very subject being discussed on TV news recently, seems mask manufacturers have built up large stock piles and are now suffering storage fees to warehouse this surplus so they are dumping product at the cost of shipping only to clear their stocks and recover some of their outgo...

Re: Bangkok Airways applies now weighing passengers before boarding
Back in the 70's I was boarding a flight from Kathmandu to Rangoon. As it was a warmer than usual day the pilot needed to reduce the payload in order to get enough thrust for take off. He came thru the cabin weighing each of us and adding and subtracting stuff on his trusty slide rule and in the end...

If sugar shortages means higher sugar prices leading to less sugar consumption in Thailand I would see that as a plus.

Re: Thailand tourism situation
We went thru Swampy on August 24th heading to KL with Malaysian Airlines. Arrived a good 3 hours before departure went to check in baggage which took over an hour( we were 12th in line) as staff were new recruits under training. Heading to the escalators for what was mayhem up at the security screen...
