Re: Hua Hin airport to be expanded to accommodate larger aircraft

This proposal sounds very odd to me. The runday is supposedly already wide enough to accept 737, and it seems unlikely to be expanded in the lenght, which would likely be necessary if ever any longhaul aicraft would want to operate here. And then, there's not much of a terminal building either, so a...

Any good reason not to take the MRTA? Rush hour should be over by 7 PM, and I wouldn't go there for the food anyway.

Very nice indeed! Did you stay one night or longer?
No wifi or internet... must have been tough, especially for the juniors :)

Re: When was your first visit to Hua Hin?

My first visit was around 10-15 years ago and I wondered why Land was THAT expensive that most beach front hotels had land plots with around 10 meters width (of beach front) and around 500 meters in length.

Re: Shopping Malls in Hua Hin

What's the official score of Market Village vs. Bluport?
- which one's better for clothes? (Assuming some of the Thai chains exist in both?)
- which one's better for groceries, especially fruit - I'd strongly assume gourmet market to win in terms of quality and variety, and also to lose on price.

Thank you so much Jingjoe and CamelJockey for the tip about Andreas' Ristorante.
That really sounds and looks excellent.
I would likely have missed it without your help.

Re: BluePort best choice for Family Dinner?

Thanks for all the hints. I wasn't quite expecting a Michelin star restaurant, nor the nicest beach front setting, and this isn't meant as the location of the ultimate dinner in town. Sorry if I did not make that clear. I have never been to Bluport and hoped to be able to combine a late afternoon sh...

Re: Why do many expats not bother to learn to read?

Isn't there in the meantime some useful app on iOS or Android to at least make learning a bit more attractive? All I've seen and tried is very basic only and doesn't really go further than repeating a few words like a parrot.

BluePort best choice for Family Dinner?

Which restaurant would you recommend for a good quality family dinner in the BluPort mall? We're open to a wide variety of cuisine, and prefer a relaxed, relatively quiet atmosphere and don't mind paying an above average price if the quality matches. I'd like to have chosen a good seafood place, but...
