Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin

When I have been there, they ask you what strength you want your curry using %age, so 100% would be “call the fire brigade my throats on fire” to 50-60% would be more like a Madras and 80% a Vindaloo - not sure what a korma would be? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's a great tip, thanks! I'...

Re: Smoking ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches, jail time for offenders

By loser I mean non smoker areas owners. In Bangkok I use to have a drink in an open area space. One part is for smokers and one for non smokers. Believe me the smoker area is always full and you always will find a free table at the non smokers area. we have a lunch room place in our city centre (H...

BB white is a bit 'stark', you might not be happy when it's on?
I was going to offer to come stay with family BB for a month, smoke in the house and their white will be magnolia by the time I leave

Re: Smoking ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches, jail time for offenders

As an aside, I walked past the designated smoking area on the 2nd floor of Market Village earlier. A bin is provided for cigarette butts. There were more on the floor around the bin than in the bin. It just helps to prove the problem. Went for a smoke at Bluport groundfloor, side entrance at the fo...

Re: Buying Paint

So what is in the row upon row of paint tins? They can't be transparent, there must be some colour. What makes the colours if the paint doesn't have any? I am confused. If they're all the same, why so many? it's not transparant, it's a white base. Look at it like having 20 sponge cakes, all sponge ...

Re: Buying Paint

I don't know if this is helpful as it's not Thailand. I'm doing a bedroom just now and had made curtains (from material I bought in Thailand, hehe), so was using a swathe of that material to get a coloured paint for the walls. I could have bought a ready made latex, that came in at around 88euros. I...

Re: Pies in Hua Hin

I made a 3rd try to get a pork pie from there after two previous unsuccessful attempts, but to no avail. Can't see the point of the business being let down by not having enough stock. Sorry it's closed, it was very nice. but I agree it was let down by lack of stock. We went there a couple of times ...

Re: Handwriting

my handwriting has gone downhill something rotten over the last 30 yrs. When I look back on things I wrote as a teenager, my handwriting was really nice, and I could do it fairly quickly, still keeping it neat and tidy. Now the only thing I ever hand write is an address on an envelope, and I now hav...

Re: Smoking ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches, jail time for offenders

and chucking away 50 plastic bottles on a thai beach is also littering but throwing away a cig butt on a thai beach is endangering marine wildlife it's a well documented fake-news-fact that fish and birds actually quite like discarded plastic, adore ring pulls from cans, but hate cig butts with a pa...

Re: Smoking ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches, jail time for offenders

this is what's confusing me .... I could smoke at 2pm in the busy area in front of the Hilton/Centara. I don't want to do that anyway but if I did do it would be smoking in very close proximity to very many non-smokers. But that would be ok. What I did do most days was access the beach via the littl...

Re: Smoking ban on Hua Hin and Thai beaches, jail time for offenders

I seriously doubt that there has ever been a single person who decided not to spend their holiday in Thailand simply because people were allowed to smoke on the beaches here. On the other hand, if I were still young, free and single, and I heard you were not allowed to smoke on the beaches in Thail...

Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

not a "never had a problem" story, more a "that was nice of the police" story my husband has a slight disability, he has a pronounced limp and wears a (visible) leg brace from the knee down. Many times at the crossing at Market Village and the other big crossing that leads to The Hilton, when the po...
