Re: Police protection racket?

He has also introduced us to them and we spent time taking pictures with them (their idea). He asked them to watch over us also. They come by p...

Customs at the airport

Coming back after a couple months away and was wondering if new arrivals at the airport are still getting luggage scanned. Last year, or so, there was a lot in the news about incoming passengers were getting their luggage scanned more frequently but, as many policies in Thailand, they tend to get fo...

Re: Personal Effects / Customs

I've had stuff for me shipped to my inlaws in Cha Am, from the states, that was held in Bangkok customs. I've also had items shipped to me in Bang Saphan held in Prachuap. While in Prachuap I saw many Hua Hin addresses on packages so not sure the reason for Prachuap vs BKK. In all cases have had goo...

Re: Cruise Ships out of Bangkok

Looked at some, and a client did a cruise in Myanmar, but haven't gone on one here yet. Been on some around Mexico and the Caribbean. Easy to relax and pig out on one. When working it was a nice way to enforce relaxing (turn off phone and email) but did get a little bored if they didn't stop much, n...

Re: Greetings from California

I think Mexican, like many ethnic cuisines, are in the taste of the individual. Here in Southern California we have a huge choice of Mexican foods, often 2-4 per corner (like 7-11's in Thailand) and often the tastes are different. Look at our threads on Indian food, everyone has a different idea. I ...

Re: Greetings from California

I miss a good Costco steak. So far have been able to get enough cigars through customs. A good deli. A decent marina that I could moor a boat in. Some ethnic cuisines (note a pattern here??) You can get most any material item if you have enough baht. It's actually my wife, who is Thai but was 20+ ye...

I'm talking about going south.

There are at least two cameras between Pranburi and Thapsakae. Go through them at over 120 kph and you will get a ticket mailed to your house (or whoever owns the vehicle).
Yes you will
