Re: Best Hua Hin Steak 2017

I had great steak at West 94th Street, the rib/burger/mexican place where the Texan owner does the cooking. Call a few days before to order your preferred steak cut and size because he will buy it in (not all cuts are always available in HH, but what you get will be fresh). Take your own English mus...

Re: What Do You Feed Your Dog

She drinks a lot of water which I guess is a sign that the food doesn't give her enough moisture (obviously the climate plays a part too). Our rottweiler was like that. I took her to the vet querying diabetes, but it turned out to be 1st stage kidney failure. I'm not saying your dog has either, but...

Re: What Do You Feed Your Dog

I'm having an epiphany here. Our bitch is killing our grass: one pee, one dead spot. Reading up it probably is not wholly the nitrogen level of her urine that's the problem so much that the pH of the urine is too high. I'm going to go from dried biscuit mixed with a small amount of sachet food over ...

Re: TV series worth downloading

Crime/drama 6 parter 'The Loch' from ITV, good characters and lots of red herrings, and twists, filmed in a beautiful part of Scotland. There is one scene where a teenager openly carries a rifle on a school trip though, bit bloody silly!

Guinness original (in a bottle) is my preferred Arthur's ale. not so smooth and creamy as the draught or widget can. I don't know if it's available in Thailand? I would have thought it would travel OK.

Re: The Rugby Thread

What's becoming apparent to me is that every match is no longer a walk in the park for the All Blacks. They're the benchmark and every team that plays them seems to have greater motivation and another gear they don't usually have. I don't know what their schedule holds after this Championship but I...

Re: What Do You Feed Your Dog

Our mixed breed is 23 kgs and has a mix of half a 120g sachet of food (chicken in gravy, etc.) with 120 g of small dry biscuit mixed in. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive. She's fed once a day. She's 4 years and healthy (I know because the vet gets to see her a lot, she gets into scrapes)....

Re: Proof of income for retirement visa

Nereus is correct, the only way that owning a house will reduce your income need is if the immigration officer has an income need at the time you sit in front of them. There is apparently another way that the funds (not your own) can magically appear in your bank account one day and be gone once the...

I hear they can be quite aggressive if you rub them up the wrong way (you know what I mean). But you do make him sound a bit of a snowflake?

Anyway I hope he enjoys HH, it's tamer/quieter than Phuket. :D

Help with garden lawn and making lawn sprinkler installation

Does anyone know of a grass expert in HH? I have a newish lawn of mixed grasses which needs some care, and am also considering installation of sprinklers. I know of Thai Garden Design, I tried calling Ben but he was out of the country at the time, but I don't know if they are reasonably priced. Any ...

This is what a good chair looks like, but it would need to include an office girl!

Re: Thai police probe teen's claim that 40 men raped her

"Mr Chanon Abdullah, who works for the Phuket branch of the Muslim for Peace Foundation, said the number of alleged rapists was based on the victim's testimony. Mr Chanon said [...] that his foundation had assisted the victim and her family since June. The young victim kept quiet about the alleged m...

Re: Bicycle laws in Thailand?

I believe that in Netherlands, in a collision between a cyclist and a car, the car driver will be considered to be at fault (a bit like the 30 degree field of vision 'rule' on the roads here) unless there's clear evidence to the contrary. I'm sure I read that in a letter to The Times recently. I gue...
