Re: A pretty realistic article about Thailand retirement cost

http://www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/041015/how-much-money-do-you-need-retire-thailand.asp?partner=YahooSA&yptr=yahoo Part of that article is hilarious : With 5000 USD per month you could rent a 2 bed condo or a house, eat out sometimes and use your aircon. Now if that was 5000...

Re: Big Dog Problem Down 114

I dont understand the attitude towards dogs, they are a pest, dangerous and should not roam the streets. Some people accusing other that want to get rid of them of being non human should maybe check their dinner plate if it includes any dead animals. They bite, carry rabies, cause harm and pain to c...

Re: Trying to be safe in thailand - buying a pickup

Now that is a good addition on the horn, thanks and noted.
The 650k is doable as long as it can function as a home too :)

If only Singapore had an retirement visa, massages and was a little less expensive..

Re: Trying to be safe in thailand - buying a pickup

And ill follow James list, will get the truck with the best safety features , shame a good german touring car is not an option unless...

Re: Trying to be safe in thailand - buying a pickup

That seems to be the problem , no one cares about anyone else and everything in the future is set already so why worry. Alien attitude that kills thousands and thousands without any reason sadly. Would much prefer that Thailand had reasonable traffic so that the choice of transportation means would ...

Re: Trying to be safe in thailand - buying a pickup

Yeah i noticed that while crossing the street in Thailand many times. Cars will sometimes stop for you but the motor guys will just not even look and drive straight through the line of cars almost wanting to hit the people crossing the street. I really dont understand the attitude. But being what it...

Re: Trying to be safe in thailand - buying a pickup

Basically, it would be unusual to have to walk motr than 600 yards. That's good to hear :) So next is finding the pickup with the most airbags, bumpers, and the loudest color possible. Seriously i see the Thai traffic as the number one thing that is causing me to doubt, making the chances of being ...

Re: Trying to be safe in thailand - buying a pickup

Waking up to a nice discussion i see, yes i can see the advantages in a motorbike of course but to quote "i would be yet another inexperienced driver". However as for cars... i have been driving since i was 18 in Germany / rest of Europe and the USA so as far cars and truck that label woul...

Trying to be safe in thailand - buying a pickup

So we have been in Thailand 4 times now, each time for a month and we are ready to pack up our things and make the move when our house sells here. However a large concern is the total insane driving antics in Thailand that we have witnessed, already we will never go in a minibus again and of course ...

Blood Crohn's and other health concerns

Having been through a large part of the forum here, i have seen quite a lot of urgent requests for blood for people who need an operation in the hospitals in Hua Hin. This is a little disturbing, does it mean that most hospitals do not have an adequate blood supply in Thailand ? This could mean life...

Re: Bringing household goods into Thailand

Thanks for the info Tunnelrats, so fingers crossed if i ship all the stuff that it will be tea money ;) Just for reading pleasure, we both are still in the early stages but this is of somewhat of an early concern when you have a large house full of 30 years of buying all kinds of items. Plus an atti...
