Re: Non-O visa from UK consulate
I am well aware of the difficulties the local office has dealing with marriage visas which is why I select the hassle free option of getting it outside of Thailand. Hua Hin office is well known for adding 'requirements' to what is officially required to get this extension and I know I am not alone w...

Re: Non-O visa from UK consulate
Not everyone is fortunate enough to qualify for the easy retirement visa, the one I got was based on marriage. My post was highlighting how easy things are outside of the country, you may not have had a problem but you do not speak for every falang that has set foot in that office. I have actually f...

Re: Non-O visa from UK consulate
I know late but I will add an update on this for those seeking the easy way to get a Thai visa. The process this year was even easier, in and out in ten minutes, they didn't even look at finances. 15 month multi entry o visa done. Why people go through all the pain of dealing with those crooks in hu...

Of course it is, they're scamming you out of 500 baht doing something that used to be free of charge.

Re: Non-O visa from UK consulate
A year has flown by and I'll need to do this again - does anyone know if the requirements have changed? Has anyone done it recently?

Re: Advise requirements needed for oa visa
Unless one is a complete visa rookie, it's easy to spot who knows what they're talking about and who to ignore. Unless one is a complete asshole, its easy to draw your conclusions from reading the experiences of others and figure out what to do yourself without paying attention to those that think ...

Re: Advise requirements needed for oa visa
All symantecs and terminology really - doesn't change the situation. I'm guessing an OA is a retirement and an O is marriage? I don't know the difference. If you get a new visa outside of Thailand you have to leave every 90 days, if you 'extend' a visa in Thailand you have to report every 90 days. R...

Re: Advise requirements needed for oa visa
It is a hundred times easier getting it in the UK before you come than dealing with the bureaucrats here, don't believe the flowery stories you read on the internet.

Re: Non-O visa from UK consulate
Hi, This was based on marriage to a Thai so not sure how 'husband's visa' would apply, mine had expired when I applied. Thai ID card of wife required (copy). No notorisation of Thai marriage cert (but needed copy of front and back). No medical cert. Was real easy compared to doing it in Thailand, th...

Re: Non-O visa from UK consulate
Just done this so will post my findings for reference. Dont like posting my passport so went in person. Went to the embassy in Queens Gate, London at about 10.45. No appointment, no need to phone ahead. Took a ticket, was next in line, total waiting time; 4 minutes. Documents required: Visa applicat...

Re: Non-O visa from UK consulate
Thanks for that info, I only need a single re-entry permit, but I want more than 90 days validity so will probably have to cough up the 125 quid.
I'll give that number a call nearer the time. As usual with visas its as clear as mud.

Thanks for the reply. Really, that easy?
Original or copy marriage cert?
How long did they give you 90 days or a year?

Non-O visa from UK consulate
I've stayed in Thailand on a non-o visa before and extended in Hua Hin. This time I need to get one before I go. Does anyone have any current experience getting a marriage visa from a consul in the UK? (I have read the embassy website but these things change every ten minutes). What did they want in...

Re: Changing non-imm B to non-O based on marriage
I am actually in the process of doing this now, my work visa is cancelled and I am on the 30 day extension 'under consideration' while the paperwork is in Bangkok. Contrary to advise I was given on the Thaivisa forum I did not have to leave the country. However ... the bottom line is that it would h...

Re: Visa in Savannakhet, Laos
Has anyone done this recently? As expected Hua Hin are causing a world of grief with the marriage extension so this is my only option.
