Re: Tom's travels - Hua Hin after dark
There was a little drama in a bar I frequent last night - the mamasan had lost her purse. Prime suspect was a semi alcoholic girl who has form for putting drinks on customer's tabs without authority. She denied it - loudly - perhaps too loudly. Channelling Hamlet, someone observed that 'The lady dot...

Time for a little light exercise.. Hua Hin Hash House Harriers If you've never heard of the Hash House Harriers, the Wiki entry is a good read. Summed up as: 'Drinkers who have a walking problem' this is a global organisation with around 2000 branches, yet no global HQ, no flash offices or overpaid ...

Re: China Coronavirus
I wonder how many people have this, but don't feel ill enough to seek treatment?
Some people are likely to suffer it far more than others.

Re: NatWest Online Banking Problems???
Banking sites are very sensitive to potential malware on people's 'puters. You've probably got an innocent cookie that looks like a worm on there.
Clear your cookies, re-start and see if that clears it.

Re: Tom's travels - Hua Hin after dark
I wandered down Soi Selakam last night, past the lilac neons where the rugby team's prop forward was drawing lazily on a fag, and found myself here: Limelight Bar Location: Soi Selakam, on the five way junction adjacent to El Murphys - few bars are harder to miss. Some people see this bar's obsessio...

Re: China Coronavirus
The presumption that China must be trying to orchestrate a cover-up is just too predictable, yet none of it seems more than vexatious speculation. We do know that as soon as they realised they had a new bug on their hands, they wasted no time sharing information on it to laboratories around the worl...

Re: Tom's travels - Hua Hin after dark
Not just one of them either - I think perhaps we should dub the lineup at that shop: The Hua Hin 1st XVYes, all of a sudden it was Ladyboy central last night. One of them looked like she might be the new centre back for Man City before the window shuts tomorrow night. She was enormous!

Re: Tom's travels - Hua Hin after dark
My efficient room maid normally spots when I leave my room for breakfast and has things sorted by the time I return. Yesterday I was up a little earlier than usual and she missed me, so I went for a stroll to get out of her way. Heading past the Hilton I crossed over 61 and headed down the southern ...

Re: Customs clearance red channel at Suvarnabhumi
I would be more inclined to stick it in a golf bag or similar and stick to the green channel. I have a friend who took an entire Kawasaki exhaust system to Bangkok but yeah agreed it is a gamble. Given how often they x-ray bags in the green channel, I'd say that's a really bad idea. A recipe for ge...

Re: Customs clearance red channel at Suvarnabhumi
My experience of customs in various countries is that if you go through the red channel 'just to be sure' the officers will be very polite and not at all suspicious. I've never tried to bring anything that big through BKK, but on two occasions I've brought and declared items I knew to be dutiable, a...

Back to topic.. Moloko Location: On the main drag (Phet Kasem Rd) about 100m south of the main traffic lights (junction with 61) on the west side. As far as I can make out, Moloko means 'milk' in Russian, however there is nothing remotely Russian themed about this place. The bar has been owned by a ...

Re: Tom's travels - Hua Hin after dark
I had arranged to take the manager of a Poonsuk Rd massage shop out for a drink after she finished work. Arriving at 11pm she told me that one of the girls had a late customer and she wouldn't be able to lock up for another half hour, so I walked down the road. OMG bar Location: Poonsuk Rd. Heading ...

Re: China Coronavirus
Bit of context:
China's annual death rate is 7.11 per 1000 population. That works out at 27000 per day.
106 deaths will occur anyway in that country in just five minutes 39 seconds.
