Re: Bringing household goods into Thailand

So not so much a Happychappy at the moment then. I shall assume from that, that the quote from sevenseasworldwide was too expensive for you.

Re: Getting money into Thailand

I have used XE and also TorFX both of which I found excellent. I have recently opened a Bangkok Bank account and just last week did a transfer through their London branch direct to my account here. Cost were minimal as there is no exchange in London, the GBP is exchanged at local rate in Thailand. I...

Re: Immigration to introduce 90 day reporting online

Taken from The Nation website:- The Blueport centre provides four kinds of services - visa extensions, re-entry permits, 90-day notifications and resident notifications. This answers my prior query re Re-Entry Permit. Can do both at BP which is great for me.

Re: Immigration to introduce 90 day reporting online

It will be interesting to find out what other 'services' are on offer. The board the 2 personnel are standing in front of says One Stop Service. I need to do a 90 next month but also want a Re-Entry Permit. Don't really want to do Blueport and Soi 35 when Soi 35 would be good for both. Any info woul...

Re: Wanting Android Tablet

@Homer. Apologies to you and everyone for the misinformation with regard to 8.1.

Can't recall where but sure I read that it was going the same way as XP and 7 with support fading as time went on

Re: Thai bank account on a tourist visa... possible?

Attended immigration this morning for the Residence Certificate, in and out in 30 minutes (albeit my wallet was 500baht lighter). Went straight to Bangkok branch near MV. Had to wait in the queue for 45 minutes but after that everything was a breeze. Account opened, ATM card supplied, internet banki...

Re: Thai bank account on a tourist visa... possible?

You still need to have a Bangkok Bank account to accept the funds. If you have an account with a UK bank, you can transfer funds to your Bangkok Bank account in Thailand via our London Branch using your UK bank’s online services, or instruct your local bank in person to transfer the funds to us (via...

Re: Thai bank account on a tourist visa... possible?

I opened one at Kasikorn about 3 years ago, on a tourist visa and without any difficulty. Took a friend there to do the same 6 months ago (Tourist Visa again) and they insisted on 10k deposit and and their own accident insurance policy for another 4k. I certainly won't take anyone else there.
