Re: Appropriate dress for women tourists in Hua Hin Feb 2017

there's no law about clothing but the women that I know are still wearing black or wearing a black ribbon on a white or light colored blouse. that will probably go on until after the cremation or up to a year. for foreigners there is no expectation but modesty is appreciated as it shows respect.

Re: Book shop/exchange in Hua Hin?

morts, they only trade, no cash for books. I don't have any phone numbers. I don't know the name of the shop across from the train station, it's also a café and has an open front. as someone said it's in a semi-circle that is also a roundabout. I don't think that there's a limit on the number of boo...

Re: Book shop/exchange in Hua Hin?

PET, 50 a day, that's a lot of choices. if I were to travel around I'd use kindle more and if my money ran short I'd definitely use it more. I don't drink so I have spending money.

Re: Book shop/exchange in Hua Hin?

i occasionally read a book on kindle on my laptop but there's something satisfying about holding a book in my hands, turning the pages and seeing the print stand out from the page. I also enjoy looking through bookshops and picking up the books, smelling the paper and the 3 dimensional aspect of bei...

I just bought gluten free chia seed crackers at bluport in the cracker section. they also have rice crackers and soy crackers but I'm not sure if they're gluten free.

Re: Book shop/exchange in Hua Hin?

both the blue and yellow and the bookshop across from the train station are still operating. the b & y only accepts books with less than a 15 yr. publishing date. no, it doesn't make sense but there it is. trade ins are worth 60 t0 80 baht and books sell for 140-160 baht. they have English, Germ...

until thousands of farangs of all nationalities refuse to pay and walk away nothing will change.

Re: Gluten Free

I think that you'll have to buy Bob's gluten free flour at Villa and make your own. either with a bread machine or oven.

Blocking Andrew's website tells you all you need to know. But this is a two edged sword. The more Thailand grows up, the more expensive it will become, and the more of a REAL nanny state it will become. And it takes generations to overcome racism. Re: Washer Dryer Combos

air-con and dehumidifier are different. one cools the air and the other removes moisture but you already knew that. in humid countries like Thailand a dehumidifier is very useful and can cut down on air-con use. most of them can run a hose from the unit to a drain so you don't have to empty them.
