There are some properties for sale at Palm Hills at attractive prices. However certain plots are the subject of an investigation by the the Land Office at Cha Am to see whether they are on land that was originally forest land and as such should not have been developed. The implications of which are ...

Re: Australian man 'stabbed in chest' in Thailand club

What a fckg. stupid comment, for you a bar girl should be groped and his customer should accept that another man grope her without any reaction. Wow, some really strange stuff coming out here. So it's all about (misplaced) possessive macho stuff, seriously? I think Europtimiste has a valid point. I...

Re: Legal fees and lawyer

Buying property in Thailand may not be as straightforward as buying in the U.K. I have used Chavalit on several occasions and the last time their due diligence saved me from making a very expensive mistake. Cost is only one part of the equation. Having said that I hear that the lawyer beside Makro i...

Re: Swimming pool operating costs

Actually the costs can vary e.g. The efficiency of the pump can dramatically reduce the costs. Even if you can afford it it pays to be economical.

Re: Thailand's imported wine crackdown

70% tax increase on Wine import is a serious blow to Retirement in Thailand. I have a bother in - law in Saraburi, I shoed me a wineyard on Kao Yai. Private sector asked to donate to Norwegian shark attack victim The deputy governor of Prajuab Khirikhan province is organizing a massive whip-round after Werner Danielsen's Thai wife Amornrat said the insurance won't pay up. And effectively shamed the Thais into action after their inaction. Mr Dan...

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

I don't know all the facts but I thought his private insurance company denied the claim. The Norwegian health service if similar to the UK NHS will only pay for treatment in the home country.(unless they approve treatment abroad in special circumstances e.g. New cancer treatments} Interestingly when...

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

Why should the local authority ( and tax payers) foot the bill? The real question should be why is the bill so high? It seems way over the top to me.

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

The biggest danger in my opinion is from pick ups and small to medium size commercial vehicles i.e. Vans and buses. Cars usually are driven quite well. Motor cycles are unfortunately involved in many accidents but mainly they kill or injure themselves. Nothing will change unless the law is enforced.

Re: Bees nest

The easiest way is get a spray bottle i.e. The kind you spray flowers with. Half fill it with petrol and will till dusk when they are all inside. Place the nozzle to the entrance of the nest and spray 2 or 3 times. Within seconds they will be asphyxiated and the nest will be silent, you then can pick...

This is a very common problem in Thailand. Service would be much better if they sacked half the workers and doubled the wages of the rest. Not forgetting staff training !!
