Re: Thailand floods of 2017

Here are some of the flood pictures that impressed me that there were and still are bad
floods in the country. Not sure where they are all from but I am glad I was not there
and affected by them.

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

WELL Hua Hin, it may be dry there and the water in the Reservoir is a bit low, but at least
it is not as hot there as in some places in Europe. I am wondering why the richer people don't
get a plane ticket to Thailand to cool off a bit

Newest Camper Van

I bought a 2017 350 FORD Transit Van 12 passenger, 3.5L ECO boost engine
and put in a Futon Bed and containers for camping supplies. Hopefully many
good nights of Stargazing and camping in the future.

Re: Name calling in Thailand

My name has a V in it, and the closest I get called is Howie. Which is okay with me. A lot of my Thai family have made the effort and call me by my real first name. I have never heard any of them call me a Farang. If people ask I will hear the word Canada, and even Alberta, which is surprising. I wi...

Hey Hua Hin any scooter owners, well here is an idea for staying dry on your scooter.
I just hope I don't need it in December to February

Don't know the buy, but if you asked him that question and he has not changed his
behaviour. I would say he is a jerk.

Re: Survey: Thailand 'among top 20 most dangerous countries' to visit

I agree that Thailand can be a dangerous country to visit. I got robbed in Pattaya on my first visit, I feel lucky that I only lost money and not my life. That happened on the 3rd day in country. I went to Phuket for the next 3 weeks of my vacation and thankfully my travelling friend had brought ext...

Re: Astronomy, cosmology and space thread

Is anyone coming to the USA for the August 21st 2w017, Solar eclipse. If so there will only be a few million of us other people some where along the path. I may be spotted in Idaho or Wyoming along with a few hundred or so other Canadians, in amongst the thousands of American amateur astronomers and...

Nice to see this newest giant aircraft roll out, I hope its test phase is totally a success and
it can launch lots of rockets in the future. The Roc.

Re: Thailand to introduce compulsory travel insurance/tourist tax

If you go to Thailand and only need the use of clinics, it is cheap, cheap, it is when you need to go into a hospital and stay in a room, then the expenses are high. I am not sure in HH, but in Pattaya Hospital it was very expensive for a Farang friend from Vancouver. Good thing he was well off and ...

Re: ANNIVERSARIES

Nice to see all of the old pictures of the ships. Reading of the people who died in captivity in Japan I will never forget reading about all the tortures that so many endured or died of while in captivity as well. Guess this is the reason that I only stop in the airports in that country but have nev...

Re: Why Is it.....?

Why are guns so easy to own in Thailand. I keep hearing of all the people killed in Thailand, by guns
as well as knives, and other methods, but it seems that guns are easy to buy and have.
I am only a yearly visitor, and not an expat, so this is my curious question for HH forum.

Sounds like times are a changing. One day I may not be able to recognize Hua Hin. 555
Actually I like to eat lunches on the sea side behind the little Chinese temple at
the Hua Hin of Hua Hin just north of the Hilton Hotel.
