Re: Visa extension - marriage vs retirement ?

Hi, I'll be looking at getting my first 1 year extension based on marriage via savings in a Thai bank account and uk monthly income ( I'm due to send for my embassy confirmation letter next month) Why does the application have to go to Bangkok and how long before should I send the passport? ( curren...

Evening education for Thai adults.

Dear All,
I'm in the process of trying to find an adult education centre for a Thai friend who was taken out of school before finishing. Between Pranburi and North Cha-Am would be good.
mods, please move to another section if you wish

Re: babysitter and english teacher for children

Sorry, I'm confused, are you an English teacher or a baby sitter? It's two different jobs.
If you are an English teacher, please don't teach 'hey guys'...the education system here has got enough problems already without it being added to.

Re: Need privates english lessons

A Filipino teacher is fine if you want your daughter to sound like an American call-centre worker.
If you have a good grip of English and the time to spare I would teach her myself, until grade 1 or 2.

Re: Recognised paedophile bar owner

Good point Caller. If I had a spent conviction (whatever the crime) I wouldn't be happy with it still being in the media. Also the website is full of spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes and missed words. Just enjoy your 2 weeks in the sun Sallyanne :) Make your next post about what you did on your h...

Re: Recognised paedophile bar owner

So he was given a SOPO in 2010 lasting for 5 years....its 2017 now.
I wouldn't exactly invite him round for a dip in my pool but the sentence/punishment has been spent. Unless he ends up working in a Hua-hin school I wouldn't worry so much, there's probably worse sex offenders in TH.

Coffee, beer and burgers is a bit of an odd combo...nothing wrong with doing one thing well.

Bumping into a old friend

Hi guys, I saw an old mate who used to pop into the shop every now and then near the railway crossing earlier tonight. His name is Les or Des, I believe he has a guesthouse in Hua hin. Maybe it was my new car because I don't think he recognised me. I don't know if his usual haunts but if a mutual fr...

The Vintage development

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has brought at the vintage development by LHM.
3.5 mil baht seems to good to be true for what is being offered. The development completed about 2 yrs ago.
Thanks for any replies.

Re: UK Inland revenue living in Thailand

Yeah to be honest it's none of your agents business what your tax affairs are, as others have said if you have other income they would be deducting the wrong amount of tax anyway. I'm thinking of doing my own accounts this year as they are simple enough this year and come just above the income tax t...

Re: Buying UK property with Thai partner

I Visited my solicitor today while I'm in uk for a few weeks. They said it would be tricky to get her on the deeds as the re mortgage of my house can only be in my name. They did suggest a 'declaration of trust', which would secure her part of the investment, which I'm happy to do. Prices (I think) ...

Re: Buying UK property with Thai partner

Thanks Pet and Khundon. Iv used the same solicitor in the uk for a few years, I just didn't want my partners' family thinking I was trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. The main reason I'm reluctant to be on the title deeds is really due to tax planning, despite what certain elements of uk ne...
