I am no camera expert but did pick up a D70 cheap last year. have been very impressed by it. Easy to use and great quality photos. Don't know how it compares to other SLRs but I am very happy with my D70.

I don't think it is medically proven but I have heard of people who swear by this although possibly you would need to have a marmite sandwich / toast on a daily bsiswhile travelling to make this effective.

Charitable status of some sort would really help you. It is easier for charity trustees to make grants / donations to other bodies which are recognised / registered charities.
