Lack of planning of infrastrure leading to traffic jams and difficulty in accessing the Mall--- luckily we have the HH traffic police on the job and who can doubt that they will sort it out with their usual efficiency and open palms.

I had a Thai PA whose English was excellent. One day she said--- I have so much trouble with conditional tenses. I said--Don't worry everybody struggles with conditional tenses.

A young woman in the company where I worked had spent several years in the US when a child. She spoke perfect American accented English when alone with English speakers. When Thais were present she spoke with a Thai accent and made frequent mistakes. Being fluent in English would make her unpopular.

In 1948 when India become free from its Colonial past it was assumed that the English language would die out. As I get older my hearing is deteriorating--- I use this when talking to some Brits, when I do not understand what they are saying I blame my hearing.

I am constantly amazed by the fact that most of the bar girls speak and understand English better than the staff in my bank.

There are closed medical groups, in Korea for example where each pt has a smart card that they carry. This has an abbreviated Medical history, Xray, US, CATS, MRI, allergies, drug interactions etc encoded on it.

in dengue, the platelets in the blood drop. platelets are part of the clotting process. If you pump up the BP cuff and leave for a few minutes Petechia, tiny red spots will appear beneath the skin surface. A very simple blood test will tell if the platelet count has dropped.
