I am a non-smoker, never been a smoker> I have seen them being smoked in public--What is the reason, I hate to say logic, for the ban??

even though annoyed by the process I have often thought that working 8 hours/day on the immigration desks at airports must be a horrible job.

I agree steve, over several years i weaned myself off air conditioning and sat on my patio, sometimes with a fan, hiding from the heat makes no sense, if you don't like hot weather--why are you here?

yes hhiner you are correct, the extra space would not help. When did you ever see all the positions in the non-thai space fully staffed, the answer I think is, never.

You do have to consider the venue. There have been a number of incidents in that bar area. I for my own part have never seen any farang/Thai fights in the bars at 5 star hotels or in golf club houses.

Has any body mentioned female companionship? There are 90+posts, I can't go thru them all. I think that it is nice that the opportunities for finding the company are always there. Even if you don't use the opportunity, knowing that you could if you wanted is a nice feeling.

yes it needs to be thought out. the airport express is a great train at a great price but neither of its BKK stations are near to hotel areas and so passengers have to take a taxi and so feel they may as well take a taxi from the airport. Actually, the first station Makkasan (Sp?) and the MRT statio...

hhiner--if the Thais could go thru a gate as on the BTS, then the gate area devoted to Thai entrants could be opened up for Non thais to use.
