Thailand changes visa rules to boost economy urgently
I fear the reduction of Non-Immigration Visas will see O and OA merged, making health insurance mandatory for all. The only relief is the amount of cover required has been significantly redued.

Thailand changes visa rules to boost economy urgently
The following bullets sound HUGE warning bells to me: Restructuring and reducing the number of Non-Immigrant visa categories from 17 to 7, starting in September 2024. Adjusting the criteria and conditions for the Long Stay visa for elderly people who wish to spend their retirement in Thailand, start...

I think it was originally advertised as Hua Hin.

Re: Condo glut in Cha-am likely to persist
I wonder how many units remain unsold at The Ghost Town Energy, or Seaside City as it has been re-branded.
Is that Hua Hin or Cha-Am? If Hua Hin, it must put the 'Robust' into doubt.

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
Some Expat foreign residents face a base tax bill of up to ฿71k a year and must file by March 2025 Foreigners in Thailand must file tax asset returns for 2024 by March 2025. The new regime could mean a minimum of ฿71,000 tax for some retired expats. Tax treaties certainly should offer relief, so ex...

Re: HD Prime Internet TV ... problem?
All that I would say is if you get a VPN, you can most probably dump HD Prime.

Re: Flights to/from Hua Hin Airport & other domestic locations
I've seen several reports - some include Hua Hin in the flight list, while others don't. Based down South, I think they are talking 30 minutes flight time. I would imagine that Hua Hin would be pushing their 30 minute flight window. At the end of the day, they haven't even be granted a licence yet. ...

Re: Mobile SIM Registration Name Must Match Mobile Banking Name
Thinking about it, I'm sure we've had a few forum members registering in their wife's name because it was easier. It's my recollection that we got a family plan under my wife's name and that all the SIMs are under her name. But, according to the DTAC app, that was ten years ago. I have 2 AI...

Re: Mobile SIM Registration Name Must Match Mobile Banking Name
Does anybody know how to check what your SIM is registered as please? My son uses a SIM bought for his business 12 years ago. He has no idea whether he registered it as himself or his business name. He hasn't been blocked yet, but it could be embarrassing if he was trying to pay a bill and was block...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Someone should check the Pranburi reservoir soon to see if it's in better shape than the last look. I think there is a post(s) that someone looked a month or so ago and it was very low. That was probably me - I took a look on 9 April. I've looked and I've looked - I can't find the photos I posted. ...

Re: Mobile SIM Registration Name Must Match Mobile Banking Name
LOL - I still haven't moved to mobile banking, but it makes a lot of sense to me for security reasons.
