Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

:agree: Many, many years ago when I was planning to take my girlfriend to the UK, I started with a solicitor, who advised me to go to the local Immigration Office. After a lot of enquiries, I was lucky to find one about 10 miles away from where I lived in Stockton-on-Tees. They were extremely helpfu...

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

This is deemed as a law 'for your safety'. So when will they take care of the 'safety' of the twenty or so people stood like sardines in the back of a pickup? This is a valid point in respect of 'pick-up style' taxis, tuk tuks, songthaews and buses (back of a lorry type) in Thailand. I ensure peopl...

Re: Kan Air starting new route between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai

I used to fly with a lot of internal airlines with work. This service was one of the best - I will be sad if it has gone.

Re: Kan Air starting new route between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai

The last time I booked (3 months ago), I had to go to their desk at Hua Hin Airport. Very helpful, very fast, able to pay with cash, no online booking fee - much better than their web site.

Let us know how you get on please.

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

I've been stopped several times over the years, where the only thing the BIB are looking for is wearing of seat belts (in the front until now). I'm sure they will continue to stop and search.

Government launches van-booking application

The Traffic Police have launched an app called “Get Van Booking” to allow people to book Inter-provincial van trips easily and in advance without going to a station. They developed their app to allow passengers to book seats on vans traveling along 30 popular routes. It also allows users to report b...

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

It could be worse, turn the clock back a few years - didn't Hua Hin residents have to report to Dan Singkorn Immigration? Or is that an untruth that I've believed?

If you want an out of the way location, Dan Singkorn make the new Hua Hin location look like city centre.

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

AFAIK there aren't any songthaews that go close. There are plenty of buses that will drop you at the Pala-U road end, which followed by a 30 minute walk, playing with the traffic will get you there. Seriously, this is either a bid to build taxi/tuk tuk trade, or they will have to make some provision.

Re: Knifeman Apprehended at Hua Hin Railway Station

In the case of the OP, if I understood the translation correctly, the culprit carried a card stating he had a mental disability (not sure if that's the correct term). The report stated he was taken to a mental institution.
