Re: Accident on nhong plub road

always best to steer clear in the early morning and late afternoon when school opens and closes. Kids who should not even be riding as they at underage ride in any direction they like. Very true, I often deliver and collect my eldest granddaughter at the school. The kids (and parents) seem to be be...

Re: Electric Meter Box

LOL - only two? We've lived here 5 years and have broken 4 knobs. Our worst one was our bedroom knob. It locked us in the bedroom (we never use the internal locks in our house), and there was no way we could get out. In the end we had to phone my daughter, who had to come around to free us. Even the...

Re: Vana Nava Hua Hin City 2017

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 2 - 4 Look E-San This was my first look at the new Hua Hin side, and I'll be honest, when we were 3 goals down inside 30 minutes, I was wondering what had happened. I guess this could have been the first time many Hua Hin players had been this far South, and they were a littl...

Re: Currency Transfer Limits

Well, the computer said "No" - I had to do 2 transfers. I have a good alternative for the 2nd transfer though.

Re: Currency Transfer Limits

Yes, I did it with my bank (NatWest) and they impose a £10K limit, which is strange because when I moved here I transferred much larger sums for house purchase etc.

Re: Zoom Lenses for Mobile Phones

Thank you. The one I had been looking at, did come with a built in tri-pod, but you make very good points - I think I'll resist.

Zoom Lenses for Mobile Phones

I keep seeing these things being offered at extremely low prices, and claims that they out perform 'real' cameras, which cost thousands of pounds more. Camera.jpg I've only ever seen one being used. The young girl didn't seem to be having any trouble. I've read reviews, and they claim they are the b...

Re: Currency Transfer Limits

OK, thanks - I know there was a time when more than £10K would be impounded for a time (1 year from memory). That sounds as if it is no longer the case.

Currency Transfer Limits

Normally when I top my Thai funds up from my UK account, I do it £10K at a time. This has always been a safe amount to transfer. Due to Brexit fluctuations, I have not transferred for sometime. However, funds are dwindling, and visa extension time is looming - I need to transfer funds soon, or sell ...

Re: 30 day visa exemption stamp clampdown at airport

UK was included in that list, and friends definitely got their free visas (for a £10 consulate fee - thank you lomu :D ). You will see that I wrote on your previous thread, " Just read the list - so is UK excluded this time? " Nobody answered, so I'm not sure. However, visas were still fre...

Re: 30 day visa exemption stamp clampdown at airport

I guessed that this might happen after last year's announcement, and I have advised any visitors intending to leave the Kingdom for any reason to arrive on a tourist visa (which is free at the moment anyway). Friends are currently in Cambodia, so hopefully, won't have any problem when they come back.

Re: Vana Nava Hua Hin City 2017

Excitement in the BB household is building today ahead of this season's T.4 kick off at Takiab Stadium. Wondering what this season will bring. All but 3 of last season's team have gone. Will there be any silverware at the end of this season? Of course TIT, and T.4 has it's own unique twists and turn...

Re: Thailand International Kite Festival @ Cha-Am

Believe me, it is an incredible spectacle, especially when the tide goes out and you can see the action as you paddle in the sea.

Thailand International Kite Festival @ Cha-Am

After disappointing many people last year when it didn't happen, the kite festival is back this year.

It will run from 10 to 12 March 2017 at Cha-Am Beach. Daily opening times are from 10am, and closing is at 8pm.

A fantastic sight, not to be missed.
