Re: Fish & Chips

Barramundi, white snapper and sea bass are all very similar - with barramundi normally found more in brackish water areas. Price and taste-wise when I lived in Thailand, I tended to opt more for red snapper or even black snapper for F&C when available, as it had a firmer texture and was cheaper ...

Re: Flights to/from Thailand status, news, and updates

Hi Barry, :) I've never noticed a lane for families at BKK, but then again I don't suppose I ever looked for one! Is it well sign posted :duck: or do you have to "grab" an immigration official? This could possibly save them waiting an extra two hours for the VIP bus to Hua Hin. Any...

Re: Flights to/from Thailand status, news, and updates

I always travel with my young daughter and we love landing in BKK cos it's the only airport I've seen that has a priority family lane at passport control for people with young kids, whatever their nationality.

Re: The Rugby Thread

Why do Ireland get to sing two anthems??? Only when we're playing at home, we get to sing our real national anthem. The other one is a compromise anthem because it's an all-Ireland team - there's no Northern Ireland rugby team as such. But I'm sure you knew that anyway :D Good solid performance by ...

Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”

Just found this: Basic summary for general Foreigners wishing to stay long term, work, retire, study, etc. in Cambodia 1. You must enter the country on an E-type (Ordinary) Visa. $35 on arrival, valid for 1 month. (Note: this Visa is often incorrectly referred to as the Business Visa). There are no ...

Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”

I read that it's pretty much the same price to do it yourself as it is for an agent. The agent route has the benefit of not having to visit immigration. It doesn't save you much cash-wise doing it yourself and it also means travelling to Phnom Penh twice (all visas are processed and issued in Phnom...

Yes, it's US$300 - you don't have to go to immigration, no paperwork or proof of funds required, multiple entry, no 90-day reporting
