Re: Immigration letter for buying a car or motorbike

Had to go to immigration last week to get a letter to buy a car and a bike the female officer said that will be 1000 baht for the letters and 1000 baht for me ! Do you have to go through this corrupt practice every time you want to buy a car. The corruption in this country makes me sick Don't want ...

Re: Immigration asking for more info from foreigners

I've been on UK state pension for 5 years and I've only been asked once recently for proof that I'm still alive. I'm sure, BB, that you will get one in due course. A friend of mine has just received notification that he has to provide a proof of life certificate to the British Pension Service. They...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Now, I thought it was just me, but I now have a friend who visits regularly adapting the same principals (with no encouragement from me). During his last visit, he asked me to order a couple of things for him online. He is currently in Cambodia, and he's doing the same thing there... Hi BB, do you ...

Hi BB, have you tried the one on soi 88, coming from your place, cross the railway line, head to towards Petkhasem and it's on your left. Charged me 200 last year as far as I recall.

Re: Email provider

Have you any experience with "Thunderbird"? Is it difficult to set up? Hi Nereus, I've been using Thunderbird for years and, although it could be a bit complicated to set up previously, it's very easy now. I have multiple email accounts, so it makes life very easy. It automatically downloads you em...

I think you'll find that net means the service charge and VAT are included; if it's not, they usually add ++ after the price.

I am thinking of the ones with a light inside that actually zaps the little buggers.
Is this what you mean? If it is, I've bought them before in Tesco Lotus

Mine are also SE, all indicate no power ever though there is power there. Bugger, luckily a cool shower is nice here Had the same problem with a Sharp WH-33. Turned out that the steel component holding the white cables and screwed onto the copper flange needed replacing. Bought this in HH for 160 b...

Re: The Digital Surgery

Thanks a lot robcar and Homer for your help and advice. Homer, yes my pruning does include regularly emptying the Recycle Bin and I do keep my work and other files on the E partition. In the end, I opted for the MiniTool Partition Wizard (free edition). It was very easy to use and I simply doubled t...

Hi J.J.B. - thanks a lot for the tips - a) was the very first thing I did but, as I clean the C drive pretty regularly, this was not going to generate much extra space. My hard disk has C, D & E partitions and an M (system reserved) partition. The current status is: Local Disk C: 9.04 GB free of 361...
