Re: RE: Re: Permanent Residency information

what would be the benefit of a PR? Does it mean you dont have to show up every 90 days? Or you dont have to renew your visa every year? No 90 days. No yearly renewals. Alien book renewal every 5 years, but only a small fine for forgetting. "Re-entry permits" are required when leaving the country an...

Re: Permanent Residency information

You need to have been paying income tax here for at least 3 years and still doing so during the application period. This really means you need to have had, and still have, a work permit. You need to be on minimum 3 years of continuous extensions of stay (not visas). If you qualify, and married to a ...

Re: RE: Re: Thai bank account on a tourist visa... possible?

Can now only do at Bangkok Bank with a Thai guarantor, who must be someone with a decent job and be there with you. Have done it for 2 clients recently, this was the only way. Forget Kasikorn, especially MV branch which now has horrendous customer service. Kasikorn used to be a good bank and I stil...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Equinox is the wrong word. It doesn't refer to the sun being overhead. It literally means equal length day and night. Equinoxes happen in March and September.

Re: Thai Navy to buy three Chinese submarines

^^ No, no, no. Transparency is a priority. The PM said so. E.g. http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/pm-pra ... nsparency/

Surely the reports of secretive cabinet decisions are fake news.

Doesn't everybody buy drinking water ?
Bluesky said the town water is drinkable ("... potable (townwater) supply... "). I don't believe it is, hence my comment.

Re: RE: Re: Hua Hin water supply disruptions?

Turned tap on in the house and water is a light brown colour. The water coming into the tank has a smell to it, a bit like bleach. Anyone have the same today ? Copped a bit of muddy water late last night on Soi 102 from the town supply. Probably a result of excess particulate matter entering the po...

The one in front of the main entrance had a few people sitting in a couple of cars as it went round today, about 3pm. Same yesterday.

Re: Buying Fresh Fish

That's the main fresh market in central Hua Hin - Chatchai market. Lots of fresh sea food. Certainly open by 6am, but still open in the afternoon. There's also a new market at Khao Noi, near Wat Ittisukhato. Opens at 5am, continues until 10pm. I have no idea whether it has fresh fish early on, but I...

Re: Buying Fresh Fish

Dinosaur market normally starts setting up about 1.30pm and is well under way by 2.30. Most days it's only partially populated (maybe 50%) by stall holders. However it's a full market on Sunday and Wednesday and parking behind the market often starts getting difficult as early as 3pm. For fish and s...

F&N (Flynow outlets) are overpriced even with a discount. Was upset my wife and her sister parted with around 10,000 baht just the other weekend. Nothing to really show for it.. Waste of money IMO for some things, big a vice drip for the Bangkok hiso's who can afford the stuff my opinion. Up to you...
