Re: Hua Hin hotels push airport redevelopment

The runway was extended at great expense at the start of the century, with appropriate rake-offs I'm sure. Supposedly it would be able to take 747s. By way of inauguration THAI flew a 747 in and out, never to return. Not even 737 sized aircraft have ever been used. Hua Hin isn't big enough, nor far ...

Re: Local transport plan for Hua Hin

I don't think the problem is people bringing their cars to Hua Hin. Many hotels have car parks anyway. The traffic problems mostly arise when visitors need to travel somewhere from their hotels. The basic requirement to get visitors to leave their cars in hotel car parks is to provide a system of tr...

Re: RE: Re: Fish and Chips

I was just in Makro in Pranburi, after reading this thread. No sign of any cod there, unfortunately. Plenty of pangasius though. Yuch!!! I don't think you'll find anything like the range of produce in Pranburi than you will at HH. Agree. HH is better (and cleaner) for fresh stuff. Pran has more har...

Re: DHL office Hua Hin

A couple of months ago DHL phoned me up to ask where my house is as they had a parcel to deliver. As it happened I was out and about so instead of rushing home I went to collect it from them. But it seems like they would have delivered had I been home.

Single track. No built in obsolescence there then. Or just not expecting many passengers?

Re: The Beer Thread

^^ Actually sugar isn't necessary as the required sugars for fermentation can be got from malted barley. But using sugar produces lighter flavoured beers, I think.

Re: Hua Hin to Sisaket

This is probably what you want. http://www.shinnakeartkorat.com/page/schedule830# Unfortunately it's in Thai and I couldn't find an English version, though I didn't look too hard. :) Basically, according to this timetable there are two trips daily from Hua Hin to Ubon Ratchathani, with Sisaket as th...

Re: Hua Hin to Sisaket

I think I have previously seen Hua Hin - Ubol Rachatani buses leaving from the soi 96/1 bus station. Last year though. It may be worth going to the bus station to see what routes are available.
