Re: RE: Re: Poorest Thais to get income support benefits

Well, it's something in the right direction, but I have to agree with the above posters about how it's allocated. Can't help wondering that most that have signed up for this probably don't travel much on trains or buses too regular and are your average village rice farmer. I would have thought that...

For anyone who isn't aware of this already then you might want to factor this into your plans that July 28th is to be declared a national holiday from this Friday onwards as it is the king's birthday. So, don't be surprised if everything is closed at short notice this Friday. http://www.bangkokpost...

Re: RE: Re: Buddhism in crisis?

Buddhism has the advantage is that there is no 'Church Hierarchy' No Pope, No Archbishop of Canterbury, No Immans, it is a kind of decentralized organization and as such is more flexible and will probably survive. No church hierarchy. But Buddhism in Thailand is organised exactly like a religion wi...

Re: RE: Re: Buddhism in crisis?

I remember a time when monks wouldn't touch money. But I'll bet that you could go along to market village almost any afternoon and see monks perusing smart phones and paying with cash. It's rains retreat now, but you can still see monks shopping during the afternoons when they're supposed to be in ...

Why not take it to the police station, where the owner is likely to go to report its loss? They can also find out where he's staying, if they want to.

19 Rai Beach

I was down at the beach at 19 Rai the other day for the first time in a while.

Where has the sand gone? It's not that long ago that you could walk down the steps onto the sand, but it's a pretty big last step now.

I do not know if the following is of any use, but at around 20 Euros it does not seem expensive. Just watch out for scams with this, as the only authorised places are automobile clubs in each country. https://www.wikiprocedure.com/index.php/Austria_-_Apply_for_International_Driver_License_(Intersta...

Are there commercial flights to other parts of Thailand from Hua Hin?
I've found flights to Bangkok only. maybe someone more enterprising than me knows of others.
I thought there no commercial flights from Hua Hin at all. Which airline did you find?

Re: Hua Hin Airport to Operate International Flights by End 2017

According to the Daily News article, Air Asia is interested in starting a service to KL. But it wants to be excused most, if not all, airport usage charges during the initial start up phase, so that will need approval before anything happens. The article also mentioned the need for other stuff to be...

Re: RE: Re: Tessaban Hua Hin

The blue book doesn't actually specify the name of the owner, as I understand it. Page 1 contains the house registration details. Page two onwards contain the names of people resident in the house. One resident (normally the first, i.e. the person listed on page two) should be shown as "house maste...
