Re: 50-year leases likely for foreigners

If ever this becomes law there will be so many strings attached it will look like the groom's wrist at a Thai wedding. Wait until full details are published. The Thai reasons for not doing it outweigh the benifits. House prices would increase and price out the Thai buyer who of course wants to own t...

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

I think it's a great initiative but without enforcement it means very little. It's timed to reduce the death toll at Songkran but doesn't tackle enforcement of the law regarding motorcycle helmets and the figures prove that the majority of road deaths at Songkran will be motorcyclists. I applaud the...

Re: Circular Runways

If we could spin the runway as in roulette it would really make landings and take-offs interesting. Thai airport engineers, anxious to make Thailand a hub, would probably design the helter shelter version for the final 1000m of descent. Total crackpot idea unless you live on a very small island and ...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

^^ I often find it easier to find things on AliExpress by using Google with an AliExpress domain search. It seems to find products I can't find by using the AliExpress search engine?? I tend to use image search. Sometimes the suppliers use very Chinenglish descriptions but Google seems to find a way...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

I use Aliexpress regularly to buy tooling for my hobby shop. It works very well for me and you have the benefit that Aliexpress does not pay the supplier until you confirm delivery of the goods and satisfaction. If you are unhappy you can open a dispute with the supplier for full refund if necessary...

Re: The Energy

I would be amazed if the 70% was anywhere near the truth. It's all smoke and mirrors as only property developers can do. I pass the development regularly and you see no significant traffic joining or leaving the place. As was pointed out already, it looks like a ghost town with only the tumbleweed m...

We should congratulate the Pattaya police on an excellent example of non racial policing and protecting the jobs of, the alleged 27,000 Thai sex workers in the city. All's well that ends well with a happy ending!

Flashing warning lights also can have many meanings. On a truck or pickup warning lights indicate that the rear bulbs are blown and I can't be ars*d to change them On a new car they simply say look at me I'm important... look at my red number plates but stay your distance. On a passenger van they in...

Sorry Mags, I can't really buy into the scenario that you are portraying, that Head will be left to his own devices because of greater UK economic needs. Last time I looked, I could buy any number of established UK brands here, including Dyson. :agree: But perhaps for different reasons. If the Beeb...
