Re: House market in Hua Hin

I would think that exchange rates could be a good part of how the prices changes. As an example, a few years back the Scandinavian currencies were much stronger so people could afford to pay more in Thai baht (I do not know about Euro, Pound and USD though). Now the prices for a lot of properties ha...

Re: Which car would you feel safest in Thailand

The new SUVs may be based on the pick-up chassis, but on my Pajero Sport (the newest type) there are no plate/flat springs! It is regular shock absorbers inside coiled springs. And I have been on long drives from Hua Hin up north and south and imho it is very nice to drive indeed. Even better after ...

Re: Closing Times in Hua Hin

This closing time thing seems a little exaggerated to me, when I see bars advertising Champions League, live starting at 01:45 tonight. It's really stupid. Other places matches in Champions League is a sure thing for extra income for bars and restaurants. Here in Hua Hin the bars must close when Ch...

Re: What happened to West 94St Pub

The owners of the property in Soi 94 wouldn't extend the lease by only 1 or 2 months, only by a year. So since they have planned to move to the premises next to Villa Market close to San Paolo, they chose to close end of this month. The new West 94 will open either end of April /early May according ...

Re: Soi 41 shooting leaves one dead

And a shooting between Thais in Soi 41 makes the nightlife going to a crawl. Last night even the infamous area "behind"Hilton had to close 2 am sharp. The two discos, Cat and Polo were not open at all. All this was becausenof the shooting in Soi 41 according to many people I asked, including several...

What time was that huahin4ever? As I said, I went through at 11:13, and smelt nothing. Or maybe it has been Mrs (SBD) BB all the time :run: I went through around 11:30-12'ish if I remember correctly. But the smell was only present for a short stretch from just after the car card booth to app...

Re: Premier League 2017-2018

After the unfair result last weekend between United and Liverpool I can't help myself being extremly satisfied seeing Man U leave Champions League after a piss poor performance. Mourinho's way to play football is utterly not entertainig at all, and the big Pogba and Sanchez stars start to look like ...

Re: RE: Re: Buying tyres in Hua Hin

My two go-to brands are Nitto and Yokohama. Both are Japanese imports and have much better performance over their life cycle. They also carry the higher-rated tyres that most other brands do not carry, price not that much more. Note that in the past I used to drive a fairly high performance sedan h...

Re: RE: Re: Thailand Tourist Friendly?

I've lived in 8 countries and none of them want foreigners living there permanently. In the U.S. people don't even want other people from different states moving to "their" state. I used to see bumper stickers on Oregon cars that said, "Don't Californicate Oregon." We live in a xenophobic world whe...
