Re: Skin doctor ?
Visited Dr Niwat yesterday to check out some red areas and 2 scabby areas on my face. His clinic is a very new and big building and he and his staff very friendly. He lasered all my red areas off and scraped my biggest scab. Sending it off to be lab tested. Process was pretty pain free and only the ...

Re: Property developer corruption in Hua Hin
So many bad stories here of crooked farang developers. The bad thing is, despite all their lying, cheating and corruption and numerous court visits, they are still free men and continuing to commit crimes against more honest customers. Do your homework and take your time. Ask around about your devel...

Re: Asking immigration about marriage visa requirements
I do my marriage visa every year when I am back in the UK. Very simple process through the Thai Consulate in London. Download and print off the forms and send them with my money and supporting evidence of bank deposits. Get it back within 1 week. I don’t have to deal with all the nonsense of the Imm...

Re: Banyan Residence and Surrounding Area
The only way to make money with owning a house in Hua Hin is if you buy a plot of land and build your own house, then you could sell it at a profit, assuming you design it well. The process can be very stressful for a foreigner though. The way to make money in Hua Hin, is by buying land in the corre...

Re: Land clearing in Kao Tao
My wife has regularly cleared our land and she has all the contacts of diggers and trucks. If you would like her to take a look at it you could call her or give me your phone number. Only problem is she is away next week working.

Re: Prostate Medicine
Not sure where to get this drug but you should supplement on Lycopene. I believe you can get it in Boots. They say it can help with prostate problems and worst scenario, it won’t do you any harm.

Re: Law Office Kraiwit in Hua Hin
I think very hard to find a good litigator in Hua Hin. Have to go to Bangkok and pay plenty of money to the big, powerful firms. Kraiwit is a good, honest lawyer and very reasonable. Excellent if you want contracts made up and want him to guide you through the minefields of buying property here. A b...

Re: Bringing Golf Clubs into Thailand
You will have no problem at Bangkok customs. Very unlikely they will stop you and you are allowed to bring your golf clubs here. Airlines are all different and bear this in mind before you book your ticket. I think Turkish and Emirates are golf club friendly, but double check on their websites.

Springfield has been verti draining their greens. Done A and C already and should be good again shortly. B not done yet. Fairways are best they have been in years. They have a rate of 1000 baht green fee if you have Thai driving license or own a property here. I live beside Black Mountain and have n...

Re: Black Mountain GC
Totally agree with you Frank. I also used to use the Black Mountain range a couple of times per week. Never once could I not find a mat to hit off, even though it used to get busy. I have stopped by a few times recently and the place is now deserted.

Re: Possible land purchase 2.5km outside HH centre. Planning to build houses. Advice please.
Jose’s idea is the best. Property in the UK is relatively safe while property here is never in your name and the last thing you ever want is to be involved in a Thai legal case that drags on for years. If you build a house here in Hua Hin for around 2 million baht, it will be tough to get much more ...

Re: Thai women second fattest in Asia
Just been in the Philippines and was astonished at how much junk food they eat there and a lot of fat people. Certainly seemed to be fatter than the Thais. Seems strange to me that so many Thai women let themselves get fat by eating bad diets and not exercising, while at the same time so many are no...

Re: One or 5 years membership at Hua Hin Golfclubs
Springfield offers 3 year memberships. Not certain how much. Maybe 100 000 baht and the maintenance fee is 15 000 baht per year. Best deal at Springfield is lifetime memberships that can be bought off a member wanting to sell. Usually go for around 250 000 baht, which includes transfer fee. Banyan s...

Re: A pretty realistic article about Thailand retirement cost
This debate always appears on forums and is really a waste of time. Everyone spends different amounts on their chosen lifestyle. I can understand that many people try to work this out in advance of retiring and moving here but the only way to work it out is to come here for a long holiday and do you...

Re: Airport Transit Question__Different airlines.
In January I travelled from Edinburgh to Amsterdam with KLM and then Amsterdam to Bangkok with Eva Air. I also had no checked baggage. I checked in online for both flights and printed out my boarding cards for both flights. No need to go through immigration and re check in.
